Canoeing - one of many water sports available

  • Windsurfing: You can hire windsurf boards on most tourist beaches.
  • Sailing: The Mediterranean is normally calm. The wind near the Straits of Gibraltar provides challenging sailing.

  • Bowls: You can play in Benavista, Torremolinos or Fuengirola.

  • Judo and Taekwondo: Judo and Taekwondo are very popular in Spain. Many centres organize professional and beginners' courses.
  • Paragliding: The valley of Abdalajís is one of the best locations in Europe.
  • Canyoning: There are exceptional opportunities in the region.
  • Caving: There are many different caves throughout the region. The best is Hundidero-Gato with over four kilometres of spectacular galleries and subterranean rivers.
  • Climbing and Abseiling: The most impressive location for the experienced enthusiast is the Garganta del Chorro, with its spectacular 400 metre gorge.
